The Long Con

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

The Sac-Con is in a couple of days and I am extremely excited. I want to go and be inspired. The experience will definitely be a different one since the last time I went to a con. I last went when I was a freshmen in high school. Back then, all I wanted to do is buy comics or toys and as a jobless teen with no money, the situation sucked humongous ginseng tea bags. Granted, I probably will buy a couple comics or toys at Sac-Con but, now, I am going to be there to talk up the guests, analyze their penmanship, and make some connections.

Mike and I will be there Sunday passing out stickers for the site. We won’t have a booth but we will be perusing the isles promoting the site. If any of you happen to go this weekend, don’t hesitate to say hello and be like a “bro”-ssiere, show some support.

The Sacramento Sci-fi and Horror convention, From the Land Beyond, will also be this weekend with a couple of guests that kind of gets my geek blood boiling in my veins. Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth), Wil Weaton (Star Trek), Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses), just to name a few. I will try to make it out those days as well but I can’t make any promises I can’t keep. Mike has insinuated that he will be at the Sci-fi con with a good 99% surety.

Either way, this weekend will be epic.
