The SNL Premiere
How do the producers at Saturday Night Live even consider the idea of an Olympic swimmer as being a good host? Fine, Michael Phelps is a spectacular Olympian and deserves ever single medal he has but… to host SNL? I rather see Triumph the Insult Dog, the hand puppet, humor me with poop jokes for an hour. I can’t even comprehend why the show would think this would be remotely funny. I stomached the entire episode with only a slight smirk hoping that each sketch after next would be laughable.
My favorites, Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader, couldn’t even pull the heavy weight that night. And I expected a lot more from the rest of the SNL staff. The smartest part of the show was to barely write Phelps into any of the sketches.
The musical act wasn’t even suppose to be funny but ended up being the most humorous. Lil Wayne’s guitar solo was comedy gold. Durning the entire set he had a guitar on his back which looked more like an accessory than an instrument for him. And when he finally whipped it out, he must have thought he was playing Guitar Hero on easy difficulty. I can barely play the guitar and I could do better with my pinkie toe and ass cheek. I liked Lil Wayne but now everytime I hear him on the radio, I’ll think of his off-timed solo. Anyway, enjoy the clip Lil Wayne rockin’ out.
Thanks for Best Week Ever for the Vid.
Von… out.
